             abstract = "Remote sensing has been used in mapping and monitoring of 
                         agriculture. Despite its potential, there are also limiting the 
                         performance of the available sensor systems, that due to issues 
                         such as spatial resolution, but mainly by the temporal resolution 
                         and availability of good quality images during the period of 
                         cultivation. Thus, this study aims to identify the variability of 
                         the values of MODIS / EVI, defining and evaluating characteristic 
                         subgroups from clustering techniques depending on the levels and 
                         quality of phenological cycles of agricultural crops in the 
                         Plateau region of Guimar{\~a}es, in state of Mato Grosso, through 
                         analysis of multi-temporal images of the Terra MODIS sensor 
                         system. The methodology consisted in the systematic analysis of 
                         EVI of main agricultural crops, together with monitoring of 
                         phenological development by periodic fieldwork. The similarity of 
                         the time profiles of EVI was examined from a Hierarchical cluster 
                         analysis, and thus, generated similar subclasses for each culture. 
                         The pixel selection of images, from the quality indicators Quality 
                         Assurance (QA). The results demonstrated a hardship on estaber 
                         groupings, ie due to lack of information (pixel values) in crucial 
                         moments, such as the time of greatest phenological development of 
                         some crops. Sense necessary to establish the arbitrary grouping 
                         definition.",
